Mom Bod: Are you struggling?

Strip off.....

Go look in the mirror......

What do you see?

How does that make you feel?

If you are pretty happy with what you see looking back, move on, well done! ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘

If not, if all you see are the love handles, the wine belly or the muffin top then maybe itโ€™s time to do something about it.

Iโ€™m so tired of people being told to suck it up and be happy. To accept themselves the way they are and love themselves unconditionally.

Letโ€™s take the mom bod as an example. Weโ€™re told that the mom bod is more โ€˜attractiveโ€™ than the buff guy, that your partner would rather snuggle up to a cuddly teddy bear.

Maybe thatโ€™s true, maybe it isnโ€™t (Iโ€™m fairly certain itโ€™s just people's own insecurities being projected onto others to make themselves feel better). But thatโ€™s not the point.

The point is that the typical mom bod isnโ€™t healthy. It isnโ€™t maintained. It isnโ€™t fueled properly. It lacks the strength and muscle needed to ward off illness and disease as well as do any sort of lifting without injury. Iโ€™m not here to tell you that you need to look a certain way, thatโ€™s definitely not what I am about. But I do want you to take your health seriously.

What we consider to be the typical mom bod, is anywhere from about 20-25% body fat and above. Interestingly, itโ€™s above this number for men and 35-40% for women where we start to see significant health implications:

๐Ÿ˜ž - High Blood Pressure
๐Ÿ˜ž - Stroke
๐Ÿ˜ž - Heart Attack
๐Ÿ˜ž - Cancer
๐Ÿ˜ž - Diabetes

We can reduce the chances of all of the above significantly by lowering our body fat to healthy levels (10-20% for men and 20-35% for women).

So Iโ€™m not here to tell you that you should be looking like a Greek God, but for your sake, and the sake of the people that care about you and want to snuggle up to you for years to come.

Stop letting yourself off the HOOK.
